What happens if I sell counterfeit products?

This article will describe what happens if Wish detects that you are selling counterfeit products. Learn what constitutes a counterfeit product.

Wish respects and protects intellectual property rights. The sales of counterfeit branded products on Wish is strictly prohibited. It is your responsibility to ensure the products you sell do not infringe any third party's legal rights.

 

Policy:

Wish may fine each store $1.00 USD per product found per day, up to $1000.00 USD per store per day. Each counterfeit product that we detect will be permanently removed once it's detected. We reserve the right to withhold payment for any order detected to be counterfeit.

 

Example:

Assume there are four stores A,B,C, and D. Each store is owed $1000.00 USD on their next payment, September 5.



September 3:
 Wish detects 0 counterfeit products for sale by store A.
 Wish detects 1 counterfeit product for sale by store B.
 Wish detects 10 counterfeit products for sale by store C.
 Wish detects 1240 counterfeit products for sale by store D.

 Outcome:
  Store A is not fined any money. None of their products are removed. They are owed $1000.00 on their next payment.
  Store B is fined $1.00 USD. They will receive $1.00 USD less on their next payment, are now owed $999.00 USD. The detected product is removed from Wish.
  Store C is fined $10.00 USD. They will receive $10.00 USD less on their next payment, are now owed $990.00 USD. The 10 detected products are removed from Wish.
  Store D is fined $1000.00 USD. They will receive $1000.00 USD less on their next payment, they are now owed $0.00 USD. The 1240 detected products are removed from Wish.

September 4:
 Wish detects 0 counterfeit products for sale by store A.
 Store B disputes their fine and supplies proper evidence they are authorized to sell their product.
 Wish detects 15 counterfeit products for sale by store C.
 Wish detects 10 counterfeit products for sale by store D.

 Outcome:
  Store A is not fined any money. None of their products are removed. They are owed $1000.00 on their next payment.
  Store B's dispute was accepted. Wish removes the fine and relists the product for sale. Store B is now owed $1000.00 on their next payment.
  Store C is fined $15.00 USD. They will receive $15.00 USD less on their next payment, are now owed $975.00 USD. The 15 detected products are removed from Wish.
 Store D is fined $10.00 USD. They will receive $10.00 USD less on their next payment, they are now owed -$10.00 USD. The 10 detected products are removed from Wish.

September 5
 Wish pays store A $1000.00 USD dollars.
 Wish pays store B $1000.00 USD dollars.
 Wish pays store C $975.00 USD dollars ($1000.00 USD - $10.00 USD - $15.00 USD).
 Wish does not pay store D any money because their balance is -$10.00 USD. They will be paid when their balance is positive.
