To help merchants better manage product-level shipping settings, we will begin a migration to fully deprecate the Variation Shipping Price feature starting May 11, 2021 UTC. Please note this migration may take up to a few days depending on the quantity of your product listings using Variation Shipping Price. As a result of this migration, the following changes will occur:
- If a product’s Variation Shipping Price differs across product variations, the minimum Variation Shipping Price value will be set as the product’s Default Shipping Price.
- If a product’s Variation Shipping Price is the same for all product variations, the Variation Shipping Price will be set as the product’s Default Shipping Price.
The Default Shipping Price will automatically apply as the shipping price for any destination countries/regions that are newly-added or do not have a set shipping price. Please note that this change may impact merchants’ existing Country Shipping Prices. We strongly encourage merchants to set their Default Shipping Price for products currently using Variation Shipping Price in order to avoid Wish automatically setting their Default Shipping Price per the criteria above.
How will this migration impact promoted products?
For promoted products that will have their shipping price changed as a result of this migration (specifically, promoted products with Variation Shipping Price differing across product variations), merchants will have a grace period of 5 calendar days (starting when migration is complete) to update Country Shipping Price for these products. As migration may take up to a few days depending on merchants’ product listing quantity, we strongly encourage merchants to check the Country Shipping Price for affected products often over the few days after migration starts on May 11, 2021 UTC.
Merchants may also contact their account manager to notify them when migration for their products is complete.
Merchants with products that have been migrated can view their remaining grace period by navigating to Products > View All Products in Merchant Dashboard, and clicking the “New Destination Grace Period” button under the Product ID column for affected products. Merchants may update Country Shipping Price for these products as many times as necessary within the 5 calendar day grace period after migration is complete.
How do I set the Default Shipping Price for a product?
Navigate to Products > View All Products on Merchant Dashboard. Locate a product, and click on the link under the “Country Shipping Price” column. This will bring you to the product-level shipping settings page. You may set the Default Shipping Price for a product on this page.
How do I find my products that are currently using Variation Shipping Price?
Merchants can view products that are currently using Variation Shipping Price by navigating to Products > View All Products on Merchant Dashboard and clicking the “Download All” button. On your downloaded product CSV file, products using Variation Shipping Price will contain “VS” under the “Shipping For:[Destination]” columns.
How do I find the minimum Variation Shipping Price for a product?
For products that currently utilize Variation Shipping Price, navigate to Products > View All Products on Merchant Dashboard. Locate the product, and click on the link under the “Country Shipping Price” column. From this page, click the “View variation shipping price” link located under the “Default Shipping Price” section (seen in the above screenshot). This will bring you to the Variation Shipping Price page. Click the tab(s) under the Variations section to see your listed product variations and prices for a given warehouse.
The product in the above image currently has one SKU with a differing Standard shipping price, set to $3.18. As $3.18 is the lowest Standard shipping price for this variation, this is the minimum Variation Shipping Price. This value will be set as the Default Shipping Price after migration is complete, unless you choose to set a Default Shipping Price (per the first image) for the given product.
Alternatively, let’s say a product has the same Standard shipping price for all variants, $5.29. This value will be set as the Default Shipping Price after migration is complete, unless you choose to set a Default Shipping Price (per the first image) for the given product.
When were variation-level shipping settings initially deprecated?
In order to help merchants better manage product-level shipping settings, variation-level shipping settings were deprecated in October 2018.
