Fulfillment By Wish (FBW) is a logistics program offered by Wish to merchants who ship orders to major customer markets in North America and Europe.
This article helps address some of the commonly asked questions about the FBW US program particularly.
To learn more about the FBW program in general, including its benefits, processes, and operations, please visit the Fulfillment By Wish (FBW) overview article.
1. What are the FBW US warehouses available to me?
Currently, Wish provides access to the following FBW warehouse located in the United States:
- FBW-US-PLG warehouse: located in Ohio, the United States
Note that currently the FBW-US-PLG warehouse only supports delivery to the United States, but we may expand the supported destination regions and will promptly notify merchants of any updates. Merchants are able to view the shipping fees for each destination country on Merchant Dashboard FBW > General Fee and Payment Information page.
After signing into your Merchant Dashboard and navigating to FBW > Create a Shipping Plan page, the page itself will directly surface to you the exact warehouse(s) your account currently has access to.
Please note that following up on an announcement sent in June 2021, we have permanently disabled the option to create shipping plans to FBW-US-LAX and FBW-US-ORD warehouses. Therefore, to store inventory at an FBW-US warehouse, please begin creating shipping plans to the new FBW-US-PLG warehouse. To learn more about how to create an FBW shipping plan, please visit this article.
After you successfully create shipping plans to the new FBW-US-PLG warehouse, please schedule a delivery appointment with the FBW-US-PLG warehouse. Note that if you are shipping inventory with small parcel courier services (such as USPS, Fedex, DHL, UPS, etc), you don’t need to make a delivery appointment in advance.
To schedule a delivery appointment, please send an email to CMH2Wish@whiplash.com and provide the following information:
- The BILL OF LADING/BOL (or any similar reference)
- The Wish shipping plan ID (it can be found on the FBW > Shipping Plan History page)
- The SKUs in the shipping plan
- The shipment size (e.g. how many pallets or cartons)
- The desired delivery date
Once your appointment is confirmed, you will receive a confirmation email; otherwise, you might be asked to book a new delivery date. Please note that the FBW-US-PLG warehouse might reject your inbound inventory if no appointment has been confirmed for the corresponding inventory.
At the same time, we will continue to transfer all merchant inventory in our existing FBW-US-LAX and FBW-US-ORD warehouses to the new FBW-US-PLG warehouse. As a result of the transition, we also temporarily disabled the option to create “Remove Inventory” requests to all FBW US warehouses. The transition is estimated to be completed within the coming months and we will promptly notify merchants of any updates.
If you have inventory in FBW-US-LAX and FBW-US-ORD, you do not need to take any actions, as all existing inventory in both US warehouses will be transferred to the new FBW-US-PLG warehouse at no additional cost to merchants. Your existing inventory stored in FBW-US-LAX and FBW-US-ORD is still available for sale and subject to the storage fees of these two warehouses. However, inventory in transit will not be available for sale and storage fees will be paused for all inventory in transition.
After the FBW-US-PLG warehouse checks in your inventory transferred from the two existing warehouses, we will begin charging a storage fee based on the FBW-US-PLG warehouse’s fee structure. In addition, your inventory will be available for sale again and the Product Shipping Price and Variation Shipping Price you set for the FBW-US-LAX and FBW-US-ORD warehouses will be automatically applied for the FBW-US-PLG warehouse. As such, we strongly recommend that merchants check and adjust Product Shipping Price and/or Variation Shipping Price as needed, after your inventory has been transferred and checked in to the new FBW-US-PLG warehouse.
2. How do I sign up for FBW US?
Upon agreeing to the FBW Terms of Service, all merchants have access to FBW-US-PLG warehouse automatically.
3. Are there certain limitations regarding the size or quantity of product I can ship to FBW US warehouses at one time?
FBW US warehouses currently do not have any limitations on weight or size. However, we suggest not shipping SKUs heavier than 20 kg (44 lbs) to FBW US warehouses.
If you have concerns about shipping big, bulky items to the FBW US warehouses, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
It doesn’t hurt to ship more units to the warehouse if you are confident that the inventory is going to move quickly. Keep in mind that the free storage period of the FBW US warehouses is only 90 calendar days (see FBW Warehouse Fees - North America for details). After 90 calendar days time, you will be responsible for any storage cost.
4. Do I have to ship goods DDP to the FBW US warehouse?
Yes. Make sure you ship your inventory DDP (Delivered Duty Paid) to the FBW US warehouses. The warehouse is not going to be responsible for paying duty for you or notify you about unpaid duties. The warehouse can also refuse to accept inbound shipments if duty is unpaid.
Alternatively, merchants shipping inventory from Mainland China to FBW US warehouses may leverage the WishPost Uni-Freight Program to do so, without needing to worry about selecting carriers that offer DDP service. The Uni-Freight Program was launched in January 2021 to help improve first-mile logistics efficiency and lower the logistics cost for Mainland China-based merchants delivering their inventory to overseas warehouses in the United States, including FBW US warehouses.
