Fulfillment By Wish (FBW) is a logistics program offered by Wish to merchants who ship orders to major customer markets in North America and Europe.
This article helps address some of the commonly asked questions about the FBW US program particularly.
To learn more about the FBW program in general, including its benefits, processes, and operations, please visit the Fulfillment By Wish (FBW) overview article.
From August 18, 2021, 12:00AM Beijing Time to November 17, 2021 11:59PM Beijing Time, FBW US and the Uni-Freight Program will launch a limited-time promotion to waive the logistics fees for merchants delivering inventory to FBW-US-PLG via the Uni-Freight Program. Please see more details at the end of this article.
1. What are the FBW US warehouses available to me?
Currently, Wish provides access to the following FBW warehouse located in the United States:
- FBW-US-PLG warehouse: located in Ohio, the United States
Note that currently the FBW-US-PLG warehouse only supports delivery to the United States, but we may expand the supported destination regions and will promptly notify merchants of any updates. Merchants are able to view the shipping fees for each destination country on Merchant Dashboard FBW > General Fee and Payment Information page.
After signing into your Merchant Dashboard and navigating to FBW > Create a Shipping Plan page, the page itself will directly surface to you the exact warehouse(s) your account currently has access to.
Please note that following up on an announcement sent in June 2021, we have permanently disabled the option to create shipping plans to FBW-US-LAX and FBW-US-ORD warehouses. Therefore, to store inventory at an FBW-US warehouse, please begin creating shipping plans to the new FBW-US-PLG warehouse. To learn more about how to create an FBW shipping plan, please visit this article.
After you successfully create shipping plans to the new FBW-US-PLG warehouse, please schedule a delivery appointment with the FBW-US-PLG warehouse. Note that if you are using small parcel courier services (such as USPS, Fedex, DHL, UPS, etc) for your last-mile logistics or leveraging the WishPost Uni-Freight Program to deliver inventory, you don’t need to make a delivery appointment in advance.
For example, after your inventory arrives in the United States, you use UPS to deliver your inventory to FBW-US-PLG and your tracking number is in this format 1Z xxx xxx yy zzzz zzz c, then you don’t need to make a delivery appointment.
To schedule a delivery appointment, please send an email in English to CMH2Wish@whiplash.com and provide the following information:
- The BILL OF LADING/BOL (or any similar reference)
- The Wish shipping plan ID (the ID can be found on the FBW > Shipping Plan History page and start with "WI")
- The SKUs in the shipping plan (the SKUs can be found on the FBW > Shipping Plan History page and start with “WI”)
- The shipment size (e.g. how many pallets or cartons)
- The desired delivery date
At the same time, we will continue to transfer all merchant inventory in our existing FBW-US-LAX and FBW-US-ORD warehouses to the new FBW-US-PLG warehouse. As a result of the transition, we also temporarily disabled the option to create “Remove Inventory” requests to all FBW US warehouses. The transition is estimated to be completed within the coming months and we will promptly notify merchants of any updates.
If you have inventory in FBW-US-LAX and FBW-US-ORD, you do not need to take any actions, as all existing inventory in both US warehouses will be transferred to the new FBW-US-PLG warehouse at no additional cost to merchants. Your existing inventory stored in FBW-US-LAX and FBW-US-ORD is still available for sale and subject to the storage fees of these two warehouses. However, inventory in transit will not be available for sale and storage fees will be paused for all inventory in transition.
After the FBW-US-PLG warehouse checks in your inventory transferred from the two existing warehouses, we will begin charging a storage fee based on the FBW-US-PLG warehouse’s fee structure. In addition, your inventory will be available for sale again and the Product Shipping Price and Variation Shipping Price you set for the FBW-US-LAX and FBW-US-ORD warehouses will be automatically applied for the FBW-US-PLG warehouse. As such, we strongly recommend that merchants check and adjust shipping price as needed, after your inventory has been transferred and checked in to the new FBW-US-PLG warehouse.
2. How do I sign up for FBW US?
Upon agreeing to the FBW Terms of Service, all merchants have access to FBW-US-PLG warehouse automatically.
3. Are there certain limitations regarding the size or quantity of product I can ship to FBW US warehouses at one time?
Yes. Currently, the FBW-US-PLG warehouse does not accept SKU weighing more than 25 pounds (11.34 kg).
If you have concerns about shipping big, bulky items to the FBW US warehouses, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
According to previous sales data, we recommend starting with an allocation of 20-100 units per SKU for FBW US. It doesn’t hurt to ship more units to the warehouse if you are confident that the inventory is going to move quickly. Keep in mind that the free storage period of the FBW US warehouses is only 90 calendar days (see FBW Warehouse Fees - North America for details). After 90 calendar days time, you will be responsible for any storage cost.
4. Are there any packaging requirements?
Yes, please pack each item separately in its own unique package (as if it were being sent to a customer). In addition, each package must be at least 4 x 6 inches to fit shipping label. If your package is too small for shipping label, the relevant package will be charged with a repackaging fee of $0.4 per package.
Merchants can pack different items in one box, but we strongly recommend that merchants only put items of the same shipping plan in one box.
If merchants have to pack items of different shipping plans into one box, please make sure that items of different shipping plans are clearly separated. Please group items of one shipping plan together and put all corresponding shipping plan labels on the outside of the box, so that the FBW-US-PLG warehouse can clearly identify and check in inventory. Otherwise, the FBW-US-PLG warehouse may not be able to timely check in your inventory or even wrongly check in your inventory, and your products will be delayed to be available for sale.
A shirt product has 2 SKUs (blue and yellow colors). The quantity for the blue SKU is 20 and the quantity for the yellow SKU is 10. In that case, the blue SKUs will need 20 separate packages and the yellow SKUs will also need 10 separate packages. Each package must be at least 4 x 6 inches to fit shipping label.
All shirts should be grouped together by color. If all items are part of one shipping plan, they can be packed in the same box.
If the blue SKUs and yellow SKUs belong to different shipping plans, please pack 20 blue SKUs together with bags or ropes to separate from yellow SKUs and put the corresponding shipping plan on blue SKUs’ package. Then pack 10 yellow SKUs in the same way so that 2 SKUs are clearly separated. In addition, please put 2 shipping plans on the outside of the box.
5. Do I have to ship goods DDP to the FBW US warehouse?
Yes. Make sure you ship your inventory DDP (Delivered Duty Paid) to the FBW US warehouses. The warehouse is not going to be responsible for paying duty for you or notify you about unpaid duties. The warehouse can also refuse to accept inbound shipments if duty is unpaid.
Alternatively, merchants shipping inventory from Mainland China to FBW US warehouses may leverage the WishPost Uni-Freight Program to do so, without needing to worry about selecting carriers that offer DDP service. The Uni-Freight Program is a logistics option for merchants to consider for delivering inventory to their overseas warehouses located in the United States, which can effectively save time, lower first-mile logistics cost, and improve last-mile efficiency for merchants.
In addition, to better support Mainland China-based merchants in delivering inventories to the recently-opened FBW-US-PLG warehouse, FBW US and the Uni-Freight Program will launch a limited-time promotion, effective August 18, 2021, 12:00AM Beijing Time.
Specifically, the logistics fees of your Uni-Freight shipping orders will be waived, if the following two requirements are both met:
- The corresponding Uni-Freight shipping orders are created between August 18, 2021, 12:00AM Beijing Time and November 17, 2021 11:59PM Beijing Time.
- You select Uni-Freight’s ocean transportation channels to deliver your inventory and the receiving address is our FBW-US-PLG warehouse in your Uni-Freight shipping orders.
To take advantage of this limited-time offering, simply follow the normal process to create a shipping plan to FBW US and a corresponding shipping order via the Uni-Freight Program. As long as you meet the two requirements mentioned above, we will later return the logistics fees of your Uni-Freight shipping orders to your WishPost accounts, after your Uni-Freight shipping order is successfully created and confirmed by WishPost.
Please note that the logistics fees of Uni-Freight shipping orders for delivering oversized or overweight boxes and small boxes (weigh less than 10kg) will not be waived. If you are eligible to enjoy other discounts offered by the Uni-Freight Program now, please also note that this limited-time offering will not be combined with other discounts.
