Why is there a $2K USD Store Registration Fee now?
Wish is always striving to provide the highest quality products/services to our customers. To ensure the satisfaction of our increasing customers, we have a duty to guarantee the quality of products/service provided by merchants. The $2K USD fee serves as evidence of merchants’ capability and determination to deliver best products/services to the customers.
What accounts are subject to this Store Registration Fee?
This policy will apply to all accounts that complete the onboarding process after October 1st, 2018 00:00 UTC. Inactive accounts will also be subject to this $2K USD Store Registration Fee, starting October 1st, 2018 00:00 UTC.
How can I avoid being judged as “inactive” in the future?
Merchant may be judged “inactive” due to multiple reasons. We suggest merchants focus more on store management and monitor store performance changes proactively to avoid being judged as “inactive”.
Who can be exempt from the $2K USD fee?
Merchants who have already completed the onboarding process before October 1, 2018 00:00 UTC with normal operation on our platform are exempt from the $2K USD fee. Merchants that complete the onboarding process on or after October 1st, 2018 00:00 UTC and can prove their credibility can also be exempt from the fee.
When will the Store Registration Fee be requested?
It will be requested in the final step during the onboarding process. Merchants can only finish the onboarding process after paying the $2K USD Store Registration Fee in order to Open the Store. Merchant has duties to guarantee the source of payment for this fee being legal, and that merchant has the legal right to process the payment for this fee.
What payment method can be supported?
We currently supports Paypal, UMPay and Payoneer as payment methods. Merchants will be responsible for any potential 3rd party charges during the payment process.
What currency should I use for the payment?
The only currency accepted will be USD. Merchant will be responsible for any potential exchange rate changes.
Is the Store Registration Fee refundable?
The $2K USD Store Registration Fee is refundable. You can request for fee refund when
- You choose to close your account
- You are disabled during the onboarding process
Merchants will be responsible for any potential 3rd party charges during the withdrawal process. The Store Registration fee can be declined to be returned to merchant at Wish’s discretion.
Is the fee deductible and when will that happen?
The fee is deductible when a merchant is found under serious infractions during his operation and is disabled by our platform. The fee is deductible and will not be returned under this situation.
Will any fines generated be applied to $2K USD Store Registration Fee?
Fines generally will remain separate from the Store Registration Fee. However, the Store Registration Fee may be used to offset any amounts you owe to Wish or any amounts that form part of a negative account balance.
Will there be any interests generated?
There will be no interests generated from the fee.
How long can I get back the Store Registration Fee after request? What if I have paid the $2K USD Store Registration Fee, but have not been approved during the onboarding process?
After you have requested to close your account and meet our requirements, the $2K USD Store Registration Fee (excluding any amounts you owe to Wish or any amounts that form part of a negative account balance) will be returned to your account balance. This will then be included in your next scheduled payment.
Depending on the state of your account, below are instructions on how to close your account.
- If you are disabled by our review team during the onboarding process, please go to "Account" and click "Close Account".
If you are requested to provide more information before your account is approved, you can either follow the instructions to provide more information, or you can go to "Account" and click "Close Account".
If your store is approved, but you would like to close the store, please go to "Account", click "Settings", and then click "Close Account" and follow instructions on the page. If your account meets the required conditions, the “Close Account” request will be processed within 30 business days. The required conditions include but are not limited to: no outstanding payments or fines, and validation of payment information.
I have paid the $2K USD Store Registration Fee. Do I need to pay again in the future?
No, this will be a one-off payment in the onboarding process. Any merchant with the $2K USD Fee in place will not be requested again.
Where will the Store Registration Fee be returned to?
After you have requested to close your account and meet our requirements, the remainder of any $2K USD Store Registration Fee will be returned to your account balance, to be included in your next scheduled payment.
