What is Fulfillment By Store (FBS)?
As an expansion of our Fulfillment By Wish (FBW) program, Fulfillment By Store (FBS) enables your products to be available in offline stores near your customers, increasing both the online and offline exposure and sales of your products. Based on forecasting data and insights, Wish strategically selects some of the top-selling and/or high-potential products in select merchants’ FBW-US-LAX and FBW-US-ORD warehouses and makes them available for sale in stores in high demand areas across North America (the U.S., Canada, Mexico). This means that the selected inventory is not only stocked in FBW warehouses, but also in our 10,000+ partner pickup stores around North America in close proximity to the customers.
Merchants simply ship their inventory to the FBW-US-LAX and/or FBW-US-ORD warehouses and the warehouses will take care of order fulfillment (pick, pack, and ship) including selecting and sending select inventory to offline stores across the globe.
How do I get FBS enabled for my account?
The FBS program is currently available for select inventory in the FBW-US-LAX and FBW-US-ORD warehouses. All merchants are enrolled in FBW US automatically, therefore eligible products in the FBW-US-LAX and FBW-US-ORD warehouses may be selected by Wish as part of the FBS program during the early stages of the FBS program.
You can view the exact inventory selected for FBS by going to the Merchant Dashboard and selecting FBW>Inventory List. Specifically, under the FBW-US-LAX and/or FBW-US-ORD tab, you'll see the following (FBW-US-LAX as an example below):
In the above example, you will see the number of products pending in the FBW-US-LAX warehouse, active in this warehouse, and pending in store (FBS). As you hover over the "Pending in Store (FBS)" column, you will see the following tooltip indicating that once these products are active in stores, they will be moved to the "All Products" tab on this page.
We strongly encourage merchants to join FBW and/or to continue adding high-quality and Wish-recommended top-selling products to the FBW-US-LAX and/or FBW-US-ORD warehouses for an opportunity to be eligible for FBS in the future. On the Merchant Dashboard, go to FBW>Create a Shipping Plan to add products to these 2 warehouses and create a shipping plan.
How is FBS beneficial for my business?
Eligible FBS products will appear under the ‘Same Day Pickup’ tab in the Wish App, increasing the product exposure to more customers on a global scale. Additionally, FBS showcases your products in 10,000+ stores in high demand areas across North America to both expand your offline customer base and shorten the time needed for customers to receive products.
Can my products reach global markets?
Yes, FBS continues to expand into new markets and partner with offline stores across the globe. Currently, 10,000+ partner pickup stores exist in a number of destination countries in North America, including the United States, Mexico, and Canada.
As Wish takes care of shipping FBS products to these markets, we strongly encourage that merchants provide the Custom HS Code for their FBW products to reach international markets outside of the U.S. smoothly with no customs delay or other issues.
The HS Code is introduced by the Harmonized Commodity Description and Coding System, also known as the Harmonized System (HS) of tariff nomenclature, is an internationally standardized system of names and numbers to classify traded products.
Merchants may provide the Custom HS Code for their products manually on the Merchant Dashboard or via API. To do so manually, first navigate to the Products > Update Existing Products > Manual page:
Then locate the targeted product listings and select “Edit Logistics” under the “Actions” dropdown menu:
Lastly, input the correct number next to the “Custom HS Code” field on the “Logistics Information” page that follows:
Alternatively, merchants may also provide the Custom HS Code using the following API endpoints:
- /api/v2/variant/update: to update a product variation
- /api/v2/variant/add: to add a product variation
How will I know if an order is an FBS order?
You may distill FBS-specific sales insights by identifying FBS orders on the Orders>History page in Merchant Dashboard. Once an FBS order is completed (i.e. a customer placed an order and picked up the item at a store), the corresponding order will show an “FBS Order” flag under the View Product (SKU) column, as shown below.
You can filter the Orders > History page to view only FBS Orders by selecting Filter Transactions > Show Fulfillment By Store transactions across a selected date range:
You can also utilize the is_fbs_order parameter of the following API endpoints to identify FBS orders:
Will I be charged additional fees for having products selected for FBS?
At this time, there is no additional cost to merchants as some of your products are selected to participate in the FBS program. FBS inventory and orders will follow the same fee structure as Fulfillment By Wish (FBW), more specifically FBW-US-LAX and FBW-US-ORD. You can view this information on the Merchant Dashboard under FBW> General Fee and Payment Information.
If I have products selected to participate in FBS, how do I view the products performance insights?
To access detailed performance data of your FBS products, merchants can visit the FBW & FBS > Fulfillment By Store (FBS) page on their Merchant Dashboard. To learn more about how to navigate this page, please visit this FAQ article.
