In order to sell products that use intellectual property, you must obtain official permission from the intellectual property owner. The letter of authorization is written proof of permission from the intellectual property owner authorizing your store to sell merchandise using the intellectual property. Please note that if you are the owner of an intellectual property, you may issue a letter of authorization to yourself.
The letter of authorization must be:
- issued by the owner of the intellectual property
- written on the company letter head of the intellectual property owner
- addressed to you or your merchant store
- state the name of the intellectual property it is providing authorization for
- authorize the recipient to use the intellectual property
